JEFFERSON, N.H. — A major housing project at the revitalized Waumbek Golf Club is set to move forward after the Planning Board approved the first phase of development on April 8. Phase one will consist of 40 units, including 24 single-family homes and eight duplexes. Construction is scheduled to begin this summer. David Hill, a co-owner of Waumbek Golf Club, had previously expressed the need for the housing development to ensure the long-term financial sustainability of the golf course. The iconic Waumbek Golf Club, often referred to as New Hampshire’s oldest 18-hole golf course, underwent significant renovations after being closed for two years. The Hicks-Hill partnership, which purchased the dormant course in September 2022, invested heavily in restoring the property. It now features a completely renovated layout, alongside a new and expanded 3,900-square-foot pro shop and restaurant.
