LITTLETON — The town’s camping-by-permit policy drew a packed house at a public hearing on Monday, with many concerns, a quick and lasting pivot to the topic of homelessness, and a few comments suggesting that if you build it, they will come. The town-owned parcel set aside for camping is 12 acres off Industrial Park Road, located across from Walmart and near the industrial park, and is accessible via the state-owned Ammonoosuc Recreational Rail Trail. People are already camping there now, said Town Manager Troy Brown, who emphasized that the policy seeking to regulate camping is a first draft. For the public hearing, about 50 residents and business owners crammed into Littleton Community House to listen and offer input.
