LITTLETON — “Hell on Wheels” came to town on Tuesday. Parked in front of the post office for an hour, just before noon, was a transport truck owned by People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals. Taking up the entirety of the box portion of the truck is a photograph of chickens in cages, with the message, “Does this bother you? Please, go vegan.” The doors and top front of the box read, “Hell On Wheels Chicken Company,” with an image of a man in a chef’s hat holding a chicken by the neck. PETA’s visit to Littleton is part of a national tour, including through northern New England to various municipalities in New Hampshire, Vermont, and Maine, with Burlington, Vt., up next.
