LITTLETON — The landscape atop the closed and capped landfill along Industrial Park Road could soon undergo a change. On Tuesday, following town meeting voter approval in March, the developer of a proposed 3.5-megawatt solar array will seek two approvals from the Littleton Zoning Board of Adjustment. Kearsarge Solar LLC seeks a variance to allow a solar energy system to be built on top of the old town landfill at 74 Industrial Park Road and a special exception to allow a fence taller than 6 feet. Nearly a year ago, during a presentation in November, representatives from Kearsarge spoke of the benefits, which they said include potential discounted electricity rates to residents through Littleton Water and Light, tax and lease payments to the town, and no costs for taxpayers.
