Mirroring similar incidents across the nation, two Massachusetts men have been charged with vandalizing a Tesla Cybertruck in the North Country. Indicted Friday by a grand jury at Coos Superior Court in Lancaster were James Pelis, 55, of Newton, who is charged with a Class B felony count of criminal mischief, and Charles Smith, 52, of Newton, who is charged with a Class B felony count of accomplice to the crime of criminal mischief. Pelis is accused of purposely vandalizing the driver’s side panels of the truck belonging to Ryan Pouliot and causing more than $1,500 in damage. According to a statement by the Carroll Police Department, the incident occurred on Saturday, March 22.
