Beta Technologies has announced a new partnership with Republic Airways. Under the deal, the South Burlington-based electric plane manufacturer will deliver one of its Alia vertical take-off and landing planes to the regional carrier later this year. The plane, which is still awaiting FAA certification, will be used for real-world trials across a range of passenger and cargo operations. Republic operates nearly a thousand regional flights daily in the U.S. and Canada for American, Delta, and United Airlines. Beta has signed other deals, including with Air New Zealand, UPS, and the U.S. military.
