BURKE — Burke Mountain Resort has hired longtime ski industry executive Tom Day as interim general manager, part of a broader expansion and restructuring effort following nearly a decade under court-ordered receivership. Bear Den Partners, which purchased the resort last month for $11.5 million, announced the appointment Monday. Day, a veteran of Waterville Valley and Gunstock Mountain in New Hampshire, is coming out of retirement for the fourth time to help steer the Vermont resort through its next phase. He will begin his new role on June 5.
