LYNDON—The Town of Lyndon is preparing to apply for a Vermont Downtown Designation, a move local leaders hope will bring long-term investment and vitality to the village center. The Lyndon Downtown Revitalization Corp. (LDRC) is at the heart of the effort, a community nonprofit preparing to lead the charge. Kim Crady Smith, a board member of LDRC, addressed community members and town officials during a recent public meeting on the designation process. If the town applies, LDRC is expected to serve as the official downtown organization — a key requirement under the state program, which provides grants, tax credits and technical assistance to support historic downtown revitalization.
