St. Johnsbury Academy will suspend its advanced CTE offerings in construction trades next year, a decision partly influenced by budgetary considerations and to allow the school to redesign and strengthen the program. The decision was announced to the Regional Advisory Board for the NEK Consortium Region during their most recent quarterly meeting and briefly discussed at the latest St. Johnsbury School Board meeting, which has representation on the RAB along with Kingdom East and Caledonia Central Supervisory Union, representatives from SJA and Lyndon Institute and local businesses and trades people. SJA will continue to offer its Intro to Construction Trades class next year and hopes to bring back the reconfigured upper-level courses with added capacity for the 2026-27 school year.
