After several months of attorneys disputing what should and shouldn’t be presented as evidence to a jury, a trial has now been scheduled for the Lancaster truck driver charged in the 2022 Littleton Main Street pedestrian death. A hearing on pending motions is scheduled for Thursday at Grafton Superior Court, followed by a final pre-trial conference on Monday, jury selection on Sept. 3, and a four-day trial beginning Oct. 1. James A. Dingman, 45, whom prosecutors said was distracted by the use of his cell phone at the time his truck rolled back into gear after a stop and struck Ralph E. Porfido, 79, is charged with a Class B felony count of negligent homicide. If convicted, Dingman faces a maximum prison sentence of 3 1/2 years. He is also charged with a Class A misdemeanor count of vehicular assault.
