CONCORD, N.H. – June 9 is the start of National Wild Turtle Week. It’s also the start of their nesting season in our region, and wildlife officials want you to keep an eye out on the roads. According to New Hampshire Fish and Game, between May and mid-June, turtles move from wetlands to other nesting sites. One of the greatest risks to the species is getting hit by cars when that journey takes them across the road. Officials say to take it slow and help turtles cross the road if you see one. If you see an injured turtle, contact Fish and Game. Click here for more information.
